The Nigerian government has declared December 25 and 26 as well as January 1 as public holidays.

The holidays are to celebrate the Christmas and New Year.

The announcement of the holidays was made in a statement by the Permanent Secretary in the Interior Ministry, Abubakar Magaji.

Dambazau urged Christians and all Nigerians to use the period to pray for continued growth and development of the country.

“Christians and all Nigerians are urged to use the period to pray for continued growth and development of the country.

“Nigerians should also strengthen their resolve to maintain national peace and unity.

“All citizens, both at home and abroad are enjoined to support the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari in its determination to improve the living standard of the people,” Dambazau said.
