BREAKING: Gowon, Obasanjo, Jonathan, others join Buhari in state of the nation meeting

An all-inclusive meeting of former Nigerian leaders, joined security chiefs on Friday for an emergency security meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari to find solution for Nigeria, currently on the broil.

The meeting coming at a time youths in several parts of the country are on rampage, under the #EndSARS banner, demanding for a comprehensive change in the manner Nigeria is being run including an end to police brutality, torture and death, reportedly commenced at 10am.

While the former Presidents and military Heads of State, were said to have been connected via the virtual platforms on the internet, the security chiefs were reportedly physically present with the President at the State House, in Abuja.

In toe at the meeting included Generals Yakubu Gowon, Olusegun Obasanjo, Abdulsalami Abubakar and their civilian counterparts, ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan and former Head of the Interim National Government, Ernest Shonekan.

Those present at the Council Chambers with the President include Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha and Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari and National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno(Rtd).

Others include the Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olanisakin; Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu; Director General Department of State Services, Yusuf Bichi and Director General, National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Rufai.

The meeting is going on behind closed doors but the agenda might be related to the mood of the nation and how to find a solution to unrest across the nation.
