BREAKING: Mob releases 58 inmates from Ondo Prison

At least 58 hoodlums have escaped after hoodlums attacked and set ablaze a police station and a correctional centre in the Okitipupa area of Ondo State, Channels Television is reporting, quoting spokesperson for the Ondo Police Command, ASP Tee Leo-Ikoro.

The account of the officer who was quoted by the TV network, which reportedly interviewed him of phone, as giving the update, was also corroborated some eyewitnesses witnesses, who added that police officers were injured during the attack, though no fatality has been reported yet.

It was also learnt that several items were destroyed on the premises of the prison.
