A gale of suspension is currently rocking the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka .

Already five Lecturers have been suspended following their involvements in examination malpractice and gross misconduct.

According to a news bulletin from the office of Public Relation officer and information management Dr Emmanuel Ojukwu, yesterday noted that the lecturers were found guilty of awarding marks to students who either failed or did not sit for examination.

The suspension was as a result of a report submitted to the management of the university on Monday by a 6-man investigation Committee on sharp practices during their emergency meeting.

The lecturers include Dr. Omuku Patrick E. of Pure and industrial Chemistry, Faculty of Physical Sciences, Dr. T. Alumona of Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering in the faculty of Engineering, and also Mr. Ken Akpado of Electronics and Computer Engineering Department.

Others are Dr. E.N. Ifeagwu and Dr. Anthony Isizoh of Electronics and Computer Engineering Department.

According to the bulletin the suspended Lecturers would be on suspension for three months during which they would be placed on half salary pending the outcome of the Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee.
