It is now a total waste of time to commence any court action against Lawrence Ewhrudjakpor, the new Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State and those intending to prosecute him must have to wait after his tenure in office.

This was the argument of Duoye Diri, the new Bayelsa State Governor, over the move to get Ewhrudjakpor prosecuted for certificate forgery of the exemption certificate of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) bearing his name.

Diri, spoke, even as an FCT Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Department of State Services (DSS) to investigate the claim, indicating that such a process for the process of a fresh prosecution, was an exercise in futility as Ewhrudjakpor, now enjoyed full, though he could be investigated.

Diri, who explained that problem was actually that the name of his deputy was misspelled by the NYSC in the document, which the body admitted before issuing a fresh document, insisted that there was really nothing worth the trouble, except those raising the issue just wanted something to clutch at.

Also speaking of his final victory and emergence on the seat of power, Diri, tagged himself a “miracle governor.”

He said: “I christen myself a miracle governor. At a point everybody gave up. We were the only party (PDP) the APC could not approach. We filed in court. The only place we had hope was in the judiciary.

“The case between APC and APC was thrown out. The APC applauded the Supreme Court and on Thursday February 13, 2020 the hammer came.

“There were those who said there will be no governor in Bayelsa State. To the glory of God Bayelsa State has a governor. I am indeed a miracle governor.”
