Chief Joe Igbokwe, Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos and avid supporter of former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has finally landed it big for his long years of being the poster boy of the camp.
Igbokwe, who has held various positions in the Lagos State Government at various times, eventually found his name in the list of commissioners announced on Tuesday by Governor Olusola Sanwo-Olu.
Igbokwe, who is also a supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari, only a day before, appeared on Channels Television, to canvass more support for the President and his government, stating that any Nigerian, saying that he was not doing well was a lair from the pit of hell.
The final list of nominees was transmitted to the State House of Assembly on Tuesday, four weeks after the Governor had sent the first batch of nominees list for screening.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by his Deputy Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile.
According to him, 13 Commissioner-and Special Adviser-designates made the second list.
“The second list had names of accomplished politicians and technocrats who “understand the current need of Lagos” and the development agenda of the Governor,” Akosile said.
He further explained that the selection process was rigorous, “because of the need to constitute the best team that would serve Lagos in line with the Sanwo-Olu administration’s vision of delivering a city-state that will rank among the top most liveable cities in the world”.
Below are names in the second batch of nominees:
1. MR. OLADELE AJAYI
2. MR. OLUWATOYIN FAYINKA
3. MRS. YETUNDE AROBIEKE
4. MR. OLANREWAJU SANUSI
