Inspector General of Police, Adamu Mohammed

Inspector Dania Ojo, the policeman, believed to have pulled the trigger that killed 20-year-old Ada Ifeanyi, and injured her boyfriend, Emmanuel Akomafuwa, is currently on the run according to information from the Lagos State Police Command/

The command, in a statement on Sunday, while giving details of the incident, which took place in Ajegunle, listed the names of the members of the police team from the Trinity Police Station that carried out the attack as Inspector Adamu Usman, Sergeant Adeyeye Adeoye, Sergeant Kashim Tijani, Sergeant Lucky Akigbe, Sergeant Paul Adeoye, and inspector Dania Ojo.

Spokesman of the command, Bala Elkana, explained that while others were arrested and set for orderly room trial, Ojo, the leader of the team, was nowhere to be found and had therefore been declared wanted.

Elkana said the officers were already facing internal disciplinary actions at the Command’s headquarters, adding that if found wanting, they would be prosecuted in conventional court for murder.

However, reacting to the alleged killings on Twitter, some Nigerians demanded that the officers be convicted, while others demanded justice for the victim.

Others said it is not enough to arrest the officers responsible for the killings in Ajegunle, adding that something has to be done quickly to avoid a looming war between the youths in that area and the Police.
