2019: Be prepared, tough task ahead - Anambra police boss *Begin training of personnel

In preparation for the 2019 election, Anambra State Police Command has commenced the training of quick intervention units, to ensure that nothing goes awry during the exercise and to plug all loopholes.

At the exercised at the training camp in Onitsha the officers are receiving drills on crowd control, weapon handling, musketry, Baton  and Rifles Exercise (BARE practices) and so on.

During an assessment visit to the camp, Commissioner of Police Anambra State Command Garba Baba Umar, said that the visit was as a result of
directives by the Inspector General of Police IGP Ibrahim K. Idris, adding that the officers must bend down and learn all the training skills and inculcate same against 2019 elections and future security challenges.

Umar, further implores them to be professional and Civil to members of the Public while discharging their duties in accordance with internationally acceptable best practices.
