Embattled Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, is expected to announce his next move, Wednesday afternoon the All Progressives Congress (APC), finally sealed his hope of re-contesting his position under its platform.

The governor, is expected to address another world press conference during which he would state what he would be doing next, as strong indication has continued to mount that he may bite at the bait, being put forward by other political parties for him to contest on their platforms.

There are already talks that he may defect to the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which is currently in a state of flux at the moment, even though his opponent in the 2015 governorship election, Jimi Agbaje, has again indicated his interest to contest on the party’s platform.

There is already a ticket waiting for the governor at the Social Democratic Party (SDP), which offered him the opportunity, last week, when it became obvious that he was no longer in the good books of the APC, after the leadership of the party directed him to drop his second term ambition.

Ambode, who is said to have rejected the u-turn by the panel sent to the state to conduct the party’s governorship primary, is reportedly peeved about the volte face, may also be heading to the courts, to upturn the decision, on the ground that the exercise was fraught with fraud.

Bringing the matter to an apparent close, the Chairman of the panel, Clement Ebri, said: “After resolving some of the hiccups, the Lagos State APC Governorship Primary Committee collated the results from the 245 wards in the 20 local government areas from the collating officers.

“At the end of the exercise, these are the votes scored by the aspirants: 1. Gov Akinwunmi Ambode, 72,901 votes. 2. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, 970,851 votes.

“Following these results, I, Clement Ebri, the Chairman of the Lagos State APC Governorship Primary Committee hereby declare Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the winner.”
