BREAKING: Dino granted N10million bail, two weeks after

Two weeks after initially denied, succour eventually came the way of Senator representing Kogi West in the Senate, Dino Melaye, as a Kogi State High Court, sitting in Lokoja, eventually granted him bail.

Justice Nasir Ajana, gave the reprieve to the lawmaker, who had a fortnight ago been ordered to be remanded in police custody by Chief Magistrate Suleiman Abdulahi, for the next 39 days, to return on June 11, 2018, when the case was adjourned to.

Dino, who was arraigned for illegal possession of arms by the Nigerian Police, was not even in court, where he appeared on two different occasions in a hospital stretcher, first in Abuja and another, in Kogi, as his health was said to have deteriorated.

He was granted bail with the sum of N10 million and one surety on compassionate ground, because of the state of his health and the fact that he did not have an antecedent of dealing in firearms.
