The United Progressive Party (UPP), is full of praises for Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, joining other Nigerians in congratulating the Senator from Enugu State, who recently scored another milestone in the academia.

Ekweremadu, a lawyer, author and scholar, was recently appointed Professor and Senior Mentoring Scholar of E-Governance and Strategic Government Studies, by the Southern University, Baton Rough, Louisiana, United States of America.

The party in a statement, personally signed by its National Chairman, Chief Chekwas Okorie, hailed the Senate President for the recognition, which it said was a manifestation of the hardwork and dedication of the federal lawmaker.

The statement read: “The leadership and members of the United Progressive Party (UPP) heartily congratulate the Deputy Senate President, Chief Ike Ekweremadu on his well-deserved appointment as a Professor and Senior Mentoring Scholar of E-Governance and Strategic Government Studies, by the Southern University, Baton Rough, Louisiana,United States of America.

The appointment is an eloquent testimony of his hardwork, diligence, perseverance, tenacity and sagacity of purpose in discharging his academic, national and international assignments. It is indeed, a national honour which Nigerians are proud of.

It is a welcome development and another feather in his brilliant academic career. We have no doubt that he will excel in his professorial duties to the University despite his enormous legislative responsibilities in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
