Anambra state citizens, especially those of the Njikoka, Dunukofia and Anaocha councils have been reassured of abundant democracy dividends by Chief Dozie Nwankwo, who took oath of office Thursday Nov 21,2019 as he was formally inaugurated by the leadership of the Federal House of Representatives in Abuja.

He has now joined the elites club of ranking members of the National Assembly following his reelection. Described as a child of destiny, Nwankwo was sworn in after successfully reclaiming his mandate at the Court of Appeal Elections Petitions tribunal, Enugu Division on Nov 1,2019.

The inauguration which was witnessed by traditional rulers, gospel ministers, Anambra citizens from across political parties, social classes, gender, including the the Minister of Transportation-Chibike Amechi, Anambra deputy Governor Nkem Okeke, Senator Victor Umeh, Senator Rochas Okorocha, Dr Obiora Okonkwo, national and state assemblies members, Nwankwo was capped with a well-attended dinner. They prayed for more achievements from him, political elevation and consistent service.

Nwankwo while thanking everyone for their prayers and support said he was overwhelmed and deeply touched by their kind words, support and show of love, particularly all through the rigours of the legal tussle that stretched to the Court of Appeal.

He admitted that these have actually now mean he should step up on his achievements through more life-enhancing projects and programmes. According to him, "...I can now settle down to work for my people. It's work, work and more work all the way."

Provision of employment opportunities to members of his constituency, scholarship, youth/women empowerment, skill acquisition, micro credit scheme, through seed money, vehicles, motor-cycles, tricycles, sewing machines, and widow support, etc.

Before joining politics, Nwankwo a Portharcourt-based successful businessman had set up a foundation -Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo Foundation through which he has been giving hope to the less privileged in the society in the last two decades. The foundation also has a medical outreach which has within the period benefitted more than one hundred thousand constituents from the federal constituencies and beyond. Some with serious medical conditions like surgeries have been sponsored and followed up successfully. As part of his education grant, Nwankwo has provided more than fifty thousand exercise books to primary and secondary schools students.

It was these and many other selfless acts of service that motivated the leaders from the area to persuade him into political representation. Little wonder he was massively voted and easily recovers same whenever it was stolen or usurped by opponents.

At the inauguration dinner, Senator Umeh expressed immense joy that Nwankwo(who is popularly called "Onye Ndozi", meaning the great Builder) was restored back to his seat. He described him as a great son of Anambra, a great son of the All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA) and a great son of Anambra Central senatorial district. He urged him to remain focussed to keep attracting quality dividends of democracy for the citizens of the state.

While congratulating Nwankwo at the National Assembly, the immediate past Imos stage governor and now a senator, Rochas Okorocha saw him as a bright youngman who has demonstrated immense zeal to greater political height. He welcomed him back to buoy the voice of selfless representatives of the masses.

When taken on his presence at the event, a front runner Anambra 2021 governorship aspirant of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Obiora Okonkwo said he's a friend to all who rejoices with everyone. He deemphasized rigid political division especially on issues that should bind and uplift the citizens, the state and the nation. He described Dozie Nwankwo as a politician whose antecedents cut across districts and constituencies and parties.

Chief Sam Oraegbunam, a long time friend of Nwankwo described him as a child of destiny who God has marked for great impact and position. He commended him for choosing to celebrate with his political family and friends at a time like now, for obvious reasons. He said the outpouring of emotions from across political and social class, gender and profession has clearly shown that Onye Ndozi is a man of the people. That even those who hitherto had been undecided have now clearly seen where the pendulum was swinging gloriously to.

Nwankwo in a brief remark saluted the judiciary for living up to its bidding as the bastion of hope for all which made it possible for him to recover his mandate which was stolen twice by the PDP. He however saw it as a no victor and no vanquished thing as all of us are members of the Anambra and human family. He stretched his hands to warmly welcome all his opponents and all to join hands and collectively develop the area.

That he will remain focused and continue to work for the good and welfare and upliftment of the living standard of his constituents. He reiterated that he will continue to attract life-enhancing programs and projects to the area/state for the benefit of all citizens.
Nwankwo replaced Barrister Valentine Ayika, a former member of the Anambra state assembly who allegedly refused a collective offer to return to the State Assembly to enable him (Nwankwo) an unfettered reelection cruise to consolidate on his achievements at the Green Chamber of the National Assembly. Both are from the same Enugwu-ukwu community in Njikoka Local Government Area. The three council federal constituency is made up of about twenty-two large communities and about sixty electoral wards.
