On Saturday, November 2, 2019, the Lagos Country Club Tennis Section (LCC-TS), came alive once again in a spectacular way.

The arena which has become a Centre of Excellence and the best place to play tennis in Nigeria, upped the ante once more, proving that the twin purpose of playing the game and socialising under the warmest and most convivial atmosphere, is neither a farce nor a tall order.

As has become the feature in recent times, the now world class facilities withstood the test as 32 players filed out to the six courts, comprising two hard courts and four clay courts, in superlative conditions for yet another beautiful day of tennis.

Welcome to the 2019 edition of the Rasky Gbinigie Tennis Classics, one of the series of activities that have added pep to what has become the enchanting story of how much good management and vision remain the sine qua non for rubbing shoulders with the bests of the best.

The one-day event, was sponsored by one of Nigeria's most versatile, internationally-acclaimed lawyers, philantropist and humanist, Rasky Gbinigie.

The superlative tennis player and former Chairman of the section, who, has spent fortunes to promote a game he loves, personally handed over the star prize to Ayo Oludemi.

Drenched in suffusing outpouring of encomiums from speakers, including the current Chairman, Seyi Adewunmi, Gbinigie promised that subsequent editions would break further grounds in a bid to put the section in a well-deserved place on the tennis global map.

As usual, Whirwindnews.com, Nigeria's authoritative and incisive general purpose online newspaper, was there to capture the story and here are some of the pictures.
