He is the hero of our democracy,
The one who gave the nation back her life;
He stood in the middle of the abyss,
And closed the chasm.

With a calm mien, he quenched the shouldering conflagration,
With a wan smile, he shamed calamity,
He did what none before had ever done.

Oga, you kept the best of you till the last,
You exit with ALL our admiration and respect,
In that one second, that single phone call,
You did more than you would have done as President in the next four years,
You erased all your errors of six years,
You cast your name in steel,
Thank you for saving Nigeria,
