All may not be well within the campaign camp of Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano as who, between Chief Victor Umeh, the Director General, and the First Lady, of the state, Ebere Obiano, should be in charge of the huge fund earmarked for the governor’s reelection, has allegedly thrown a spanner in the works.

Umeh is said to have threatened to resign, if the entire money, currently under the wraps of the governor’s wife is not paid into the account of the campaign office immediately, according to reports by Post Express.

In fact, the paper reports that the situation is responsible for the unusual calm disposition the former APGA National Chairman, is putting up lately, as he is said to have developed cold feet.

Those not in the know are said to have been left wondering what has happened to the flamboyant campaigns Umeh is known with, as recorded during Obiano’s first tenure and during his own senatorial campaign.

Quoting one of Umeh’s aides, who pleaded anonymity the paper said that the governor had been given a 14-day ultimatum to reverse the situation, as handing him over the DG seat without the paraphernalia of office and the tool to go to work had left him hamstrung.

Information also revealed that the campaign funds has been placed in the control of the Governor’s wife, hence any fund to be released for campaign must be approved her.

In his reaction, a member of the campaign team, who does not want his name on print, said that Obiano’s campaign is strong with a united force adding that “the allegation is part of the antics of the opposition camp to cause disunity in ‘the winning team.'”
