The late Tagbo and Davido

Pop icon, David Adeleke, otherwise known as Davido, has again risen to the occasion to defend himself over the death of his friend, Tagbo Umeike, insisting that he had no hand in the incident, which is now turning quite sordid.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, had on Wednesday, told reporters that the late Umeike, died of suffocation, contrary to the earlier suspicion of overdose of alcohol, saying that the command had in returning its searchlight on the popular pop star, invited him for more interrogation.

Against this backdrop, many followers of events, have not only on their own reached a conclusion, but called for the outright arrest of the music star, who they now hold responsible for the incident.

But, apparently unfazed by the different angles being introduced indicating his culpability in the incident, Davido, said that a clear statement detailing what happened prior to the death of Umeike, would be released soon.

In a statement indicating that his giving out very little on the incident, which was said to have taken place on the eve of Umeike’s birthday, he wrote: “Lies everywhere due to respect for Tagbo and his family, I haven’t spoken about this issue since.

“Soon a statement and footage will be released, enough is enough.

“God bless you guys!!! everyone be safe.

“My heart is pure and the world knows, please God keep my heart the same.

“Plese don’t give me a change of heart Lord, I shall remain a giving being.”
