Residents of the commercial city of Onitsha and their neighbours in Anambra State, are going to have a fun-filled laughter day this Sunday, to mark the nation’s 57th independence anniversary, thanks to one of Nigeria’s leading telecommunications operators, Globacom.

The global network provider is coming with its much talked about hilarious comedy show, Glo Laffta Fest, which would be held at CJ Patterson International Auditorium Complex, All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha, beginning from 2 p.m.

According to Globacom, the show will parade some of the country’s best humour merchants including Bovi Ugboma, Godwin Komone, popularly called Gordons, Senator and Frank D Don, while Nollywood’s Kanayo O. Kanayo (KOK), Patience Ozokwor (Mama G) and Angela Okorie would attend the event as celebrity guests.

The company added that delectable thespians, Juliet Ibrahim and Uche Jombo, would be the anchors of the show expected to attract Glo subscribers, students, professionals, businessmen and other fun lovers.

"It is going to be an extra-ordinary Independence Day celebration in Onitsha on Sunday. The show has gone round major cities in Nigeria, dispensing uncommon fun and excitement. Onitsha will be no different. People of Onitsha and environs should prepare to have fun like never before”, Globacom said.

On their part, the artistes have promised expected guests a fun-filled time. Bovi said, “Onitsha, get ready for us as we come on Sunday. We are going to give you like you like it, hot and spicy. It’s going to be fun like you’ve never seen before.”

Gordons, spoke in a similar vein. The humorous comedian, who is widely called the ‘Bishop of Osusu Ministry’, declared: “Let everyone in Onitsha tell everyone else that I am coming to minister on Sunday. Prepare for an unforgettable evening of fun. You cannot afford to miss this.”

To attend the Onitsha show, Glo subscribers are expected to use up to N2,000 credit within one month and text LOL with the location name to the short code 240; for example, "LOL Onitsha” to 240.

Subscribers who do not meet this criterion but who wish to attend the show can go to the event venue with N2000 to purchase airtime for their own use which would entitle them to entry tickets to the event.

The Onitsha event is the 25th edition of the comedy show which kicked off in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on April 16th, 2017.  After Onitsha, the next show will be held in Makurdi, Benue State, and in Ajah, Lagos, thereafter.
