BREAKING: Again, France under attack, as gunman takes seven hostage

Once again, France has a serious security situation in its hands, as reports are emerging of an armed man who has taken seven people hostage in a travel agency in Paris.

Reports from UK Mirror, say emergency services raced to the scene and immediately cordoned off the area as news of the incident broke.

Heavily-armed officers were seen close to the area - with Paris on high alert from terror attacks.

Early indications suggest this is a robbery gone wrong, with cops tweeting out: "Boulevard Massena Intervention under way for an armed robbery, motorists bypass the area".

The area where the hostage taking is underway is to the south of the city.

France is still on high alert having suffered a number of devastating terror attacks in the past two years.

In January 2015, a pair of Jihadi murderers burst into the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo and slaughtered several of the staff before going on the run.

Brothers Saïd and Chérif Kouachi killed 12 people and injured a further 11 in their bloody rampage.

Both were shot dead two days later during a siege.
