A group known as International Foundation for peace, good governance and Human development has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to channel his full energy in delivering on his campaign promises rather than going after Opponents, particularly his predecessor, former President Jonathan.

The group speaking thourgh its Founder and coordinator, Celestine Chukwu was reacting to recent pronouncement by Buhari that he would only concentrate his probe on the immediate past administration and wondered why the incumbent government would be selective in his anti-corruption crusade.

According to Chukwu “the president of this country is a man that we all know. His activities now are mere witch-hunting. I think he is collaborating with former president Obasanjo trying whatever they can to soil, to destroy and condemn the person of former president Goodluck Jonathan.Image result for jonathanJonathan

“But the truth remains that the name of Goodluck Jonathan is indestructible, it cannot be condemned. We thank God that Jonathan made this statement before handing over to Buhari; that if Buhari wants to probe, he should probe not only his government. That if Buhari single out his government, it should amount to witch-hunting.

“Don’t forget that against numerous pressure, Jonathan still have heart to hand over to Buhari. That shows he is a good man. Probing his government will amount to witch-hunting because this is what he did to Sambo Dasuki. Why, because of the issue when Buhari was over thrown when he was the head of state by Babangida’s administration.

“He is now trying to use his best man who was appointed as DSS boss to witch-hunt Sambo. In doing that, we know that he is moving gradually to Goodluck Jonathan. We have seen the hand writing on the wall, but it will not do him any good because Goodluck Jonathan’s name is indestructible.

On Buhari’s pronouncement that he could only appoint Minister in September, the President General Mburubu Community in Enugu state called for quicker action in the formation of federal cabinet members adding “wasting more time in appointing key government officials will lead to unaccountability in government activities.”

Also speaking on recent confession by Dasuki that he worked to ensure that Buhari emerged as Presidennt even while still serving under Jonathan, Chukwu described it as an act of sabotage

He maintained “the statement made by Sambo Dasuki is not a surprise, it is what is expected by every individual who follow the Nigeria’s sentimental politics. One of the problem that Jonathan had is that they said he favoured the Igbos. One thing I want you to understand is that the Igbos voted massively for Jonathan and no government can come and rule out the position of the  Igbos in his administration.

“Remember what Buhari did recently in his appointments, the only thing he did was to give them book haram, what does that mean? He wants to ravage the Igbo speaking community, he want to destroy it. That singular act will send a signal to the Igbos that the current president of Nigeria does not have the interest of the Igbos at heart. He came to destroy the Igbos if possible but that is not possible.”

“Many said Buhari is a man of integrity but his actions have shown that he lacks some level of integrity. For him not appointing Ministers and other key government officials is because he does not want anybody to check mate him.

“Buhari is the minister of all the ministries, he is the chairman of all boards now, who is he accounting to now? This is an opportunity for him to dwindle Nigeria and that is exactly what he is doing. All the monies that is supposed to be pay to the ministers, he is the one collecting them.

“If people are appointed as ministers, that will reduce the level of unemployment but he did not do it in the name of looking for credible persons to appoint. You are looking for credible personalities for how many months? That act alone is questionable. Therefore, it is unacceptable by Nigerians.”
