Nigeria’s Super Falcons a while ago whitewashed their Malian counterparts 9-1 on aggregate to qualify for 2015 All Africa Games, AAG which would take place later in the year. The second leg ended 8-0 in favour of Nigeria.

The Nigerian side began the final qualifier match like a house on fire with an early goal from Desire Oparanozie in the 3rd minute.

From then, other goals came in quick succession after several misses in front of Mali goal post.

In the first half, four more goals were registered from Francisca Ordega, Asisat Oshoala and another from Oparanozie.

The Nigerian Girls were not done yet when the second half began as Oshoala, Ordega got their second goal of the day while Evelyn Nwabuoku and substitute Esther Sunday who replaced Ngozi Okobi in 63 minutes of the encounter completed the goal spree.

Speaking shortly after the game, Super Falcons Head Coach Edwin Okon whose joy knew no bounds attributed their huge success to hard work and dedication on and off the pitch.

According to him “I’m happy because we have qualified for All Africa Games not minding the goals margin. Malians are good but We were able to unlock their defense after taking time to study their pattern of play.

“The team is still work in progress. We will continue to correct our mistakes till we go to World Cup and All Africa Games. We now know how to approach Our Malian Opponents when we meet again during the Olympic qualify.

For striker Asisat Oshoala of Liverpool Ladies, “Our target was to win with high margin and thank God we we have been able to do just that”
